Where Im From
I am from hot summer days, and much anticipated nights,
From sand that never ends, and ocean blue water that goes on forever.
I am from cosmos, sweet peas, and morning glories,
From porch swings, white picket fences, and childrens gardens.
From stacks of books that are taller then me,
and libraries that close far too soon.
I am from, I dont know how, but well find a way,
From, You can always change your mind, and
Well, thats an interesting choice,
I am from a smart, loving mom,
and a brother who always cares,
even if he pretends not to.
I am from
I'm from the poems I've written.
I'm from the quotes that glitter in our eyes.
I'm from the lyrics that make me cry,
to the ones that make me fly.
I'm from the good and bad times.
The pictures that make us gasp.
I'm from my computer world.
From everything I've gained,
to everything I've lost.
I'm from the shadows
the corners of everywhere I go.
I'm from the hits I've taken,
and the hugs I've given.
The tears I've shed,
to the smiles I've shared.
I'm from the jokes I've told,
to the laughs I've caused.
I'm from my iPod screen,
and every song we've ever danced to.
I'm from the sweet scent of vanilla,
to the scent of his swea
I am from jealousy
Of pretty siblings and condescending adults
I am from the nearby ocean
And the small music box
Of the calming, salty coldness of the tides
And the soothing ringing of the dancing figurine
I am from a high place
Made a hill through disaster
Constructed a quaint neighborhood
Around the jets piercing banter
I am from strength
From the friends who've helped me
I am from "keep going"
And a promise I'm still holding
I am from a cold place
Of natural and mortal senses
But I have learned to chase dreams
To never let go
Of what is to be
I am from music nots,
from guitars and choir songs.
I'm from blasting music through headphones,
from singing loudly along.
I'm from writing long poems,
short stories, writing my friends songs.
I'm from a bleak, frozen morning
on a February day.
I'm from my mother's curly hair,
and from my father's foreign way.
I'm from family who acted like friends,
and friends who were my family.
I am from skull patterns on my clothes,
from my computer and my glasses.
I'm from tons of bracelets on my arms,
from those trying advanced classes.
I'm from double peanut butter sandwhiches,
because I never did like jelly.
I'm from speaking with my

Where I'm From
I'm from the box of stubby chalk,
Worn from years of driveway drawing.
I'm from the hose that erased it all.
I'm from the roly-polies living in my sandbox
And I'm from triple-dog-dares to stick my head in.
I'm of the tree, branches dropping every year.
I am from hiding when I saw bees getting near.
I am from spruce pines, "Ever Green, Ever Growing."
I'm from square dancing without ever slowing.
I'm from my dad telling me war stories
When I stayed home from school sick.
I'm from my mom, losing her keys in her purse.
I'm from my brother, jumping on my bed.
I'm from the playground, the scary big slide.

I am from books,
From memories and 500 pages a day.
I am from the crisp autumn air.
(Brisk, clear
Sense the change coming)
I am from the mountains,
The pine tree,
Whose limbs the wind blows,
And the snow weighs down.
I'm from dark chocolate and homemade food; a cornucopia of flavors.
From Patricia, Guy and Lyn.
I'm from the blue-eyed blonde
And long eyelashes.
From speak your mind and be fearless.
I'm from dreams and imagination,
With my own world,
And a destiny that I solely control.
I'm from Colorado and Washington D.C.
Grilled cheese and tomato soup.
